To see out the year, experimental rock trio Princess Goes to the Butterfly Museum have announced a series of dates across the UK and Ireland. Following up their acclaimed album released earlier this year, THANKS FOR COMING, this tour will be the first time they will perform the album live.
The shows are being promoted as intimate, playing in smaller venues around the country beginning in Bristol’s Thekla on the 27th of November. Their aforementioned debut album recieved glowing reviews from numerous UK publications. Listen to their album below:
A supergroup of sorts, the trio is comprised of Dexter star Michael C. Hall, though a major musical talent; he was selected by David Bowie to star in his musical Lazarus. The drummer, Peter Yanowitz, began his career for The Wallflowers before co-founding indie band Morningwood several years later, and has since worked with a myriad of big artists including Yoko Ono, Billy Bragg, and Wilco. Keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen has spent the better half of the last decade touring with Blondie.
Since releasing their album earlier in the year, they have released a single, a radio edit from their album cut ‘Too Cool to Care’, as well as a music video for their track ‘Nevertheless’. The video, directed by Dylan Greenberg showcases their experimental sensibilities, with Michael C. Hall clearly absorbing much from his time with Bowie.
On the video, Hall says: “the disembodied head was a component we had in mind when shooting in front of the green screen… But we owe the way it’s executed to Dylan’s playfulness and intuitive sense of the song. The 2-headed footage of me that appears on the TV screen in the video was in fact shot in the shower of my ‘Dexter’ trailer.”
