Prince is finally happy with us all seeing him perform a cover of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ at 2008’s Coachella festival.
After performing a tour de force of career spanning hits and covers of various artists at the 2008 show, one song stood out in particular. His eight minute rendition of Radiohead’s earliest hit ‘Creep’ was widely regarded as the song that stole the show. However the day after Youtube videos of the performance were hit with Copyright claims and taken down. Radiohead were not particularly impressed by the heavy handed copyright enforcement, and in an interview with AP Thom Yorke said “Really? He’s blocked it?… Surely we should block it. Hang on a moment… Well, tell him to unblock it. It’s our … song.” It’s been seven years since then, and – as The Verge has charted – 20 years in the making, but we can all finally hear Prince’s cover of ‘Creep’, as endorsed on Twitter by Prince himself:
