The news of the tour comes after the four piece band had previously announced on May 31st that they will be releasing a new album, Bobbie, later this year in October. The album announcement came with Pip Blom dropping a brand new track, “Is This Love?“, featuring help from none other than Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos.

The band’s relationship with Franz Ferdinand is strong and has seen them support the Scottish rock band on several occasions. On working with Kapranos on the new song the band have stated, “The nice thing about working with Alex, besides the fact that the atmosphere was really good, was that we both had quite different perspectives. Whereas I am a bit more rock by nature, Alex is a lot funkier. And that turned out to be the perfect addition for this song, both in the verses and completely in the chorus. Never before has such a funky Pip Blom song appeared, and we all absolutely love it.”
The new track follows the releasing of another song, “Tiger“, released at the start of April and one that will be another that will feature on their new LP.
Bobbie will be Pip Blom’s third studio album, following their debut album Boat in 2019 and their second, Welcome Break, in 2021. The group formed in Amsterdam in 2016 and is comprised of four members; lead vocalist, guitarist and inspiration for the band’s name, Pip Blom, her brother Tender Blom (backing vocals, guitar), Darek Mercks (bass) and Gini Cameron (drums).
