Ringo Starr appeared on stage in a surprise collaboration with Paul McCartney during the last night of his US tour. With a setlist including The Beatles’s most famous songs, including ‘Let It Be’, ‘Eleanor Rigby’, and ‘Hey Jude’, it was every Beatles fan’s dream come true as the only other member of the group surfaced on the stage at the LA gig, held at the Dodger Stadium.
Together, Paul and Ringo performed extended versions to hits including ‘Helter Skelter’, lifted from the band’s ninth album, ‘White Album’ and ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’, with Ringo playing the drums.
Fan acclaim has rocked Twitter with the surprise cameo by Ringo Starr. Ringo left the stage to the sound of the fans chanting as one, the peace and love phrase. At the conclusion of his performance, McCartney addressed the crowd to say, “Farewell to you guys. Farewell to America. Only one thing left to be said: we’ll see you next time.” McCartney confirmed that he had no intentions to retire from touring any time soon.
