UK alternative outfit Nothing But Thieves have announced a forthcoming new EP, What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way? It’s set for release on October 19th via RCA Records and can be pre-ordered on 12-inch vinyl here.
The four-track release was produced by Jim Abbiss, best known for his work with Adele and The Arctic Monkeys, and mixing was handled by David Sardy, who’s worked with the likes of Noel Gallagher, Catfish And The Bottlemen and Oasis. See the tracklist below:
1. Forever And Ever More
2. Gods
3. You Know Me Too Well
4. Take This Lonely Heart
The Essex rockers have released the opening track, ‘Forever And Ever More’, as the lead single. Over an industrial backing of buzzsaw guitar riffs and switching time signatures, Conor Mason sings a rolling melody packed with characteristically dark imagery. Some of the most memorable lines can be found in the first verse:
Down in the gutter and looking for trouble
Or something to that effect
And there she was, a mirror cross
Ironically ’round the neck
And as you kissed me upon the lips
And the fever came without a warning
Backed by the success of their 2015 breakout self-titled LP and their recent headline appearance at Reading, Nothing But Thieves are tomorrow heading on a world tour that includes a spate of UK dates. Get tickets here and see their itinerary below:
