Today Rolling Stone guitarist Ronnie Wood has said that we could potentially expect a new Rolling Stones album next year with them apparently hoping to start recording material for what will be their 23rd album release.
He had this to say on the matter:
“We’ll maybe go in the studio in December and cut a few tracks and see what happens,” Wood recently told ABC Radio. “We’ll take it from there, see how it all goes. One thing at a time.”
This is a stark contrast to what bandmate Keith Richards had said about recording new songs:
“These guys aren’t getting any younger, but at the same time, they’re getting better. I’d love to shove them in the studio in April, hot off the road”.
Either way it seems that all members of the legendary rock and roll group are eager to start recording songs sooner rather than later, with lead singer Mick Jagger also discussing their new album:
“It would be very nice and I’ve got a lot of new songs and songs I’ve written over the last couple of years. I’ve done really good demos for all of them, which I would love to record. So, let’s hope so.”
With their last album being released in 2005, a little over 10 years ago we can definitely argue that it’s time for some new Rolling Stones material! So hopefully we will see a new collaboration from the rockers soon!
