New Order will be featuring on Tim Burgess’ Listening Party special on December 15th at 8pm. The special is to celebrate the news of the homecoming show, but also to promote the bands most recent LP Music Complete.
Recently, New Order announced they will be releasing their sold-out Alexandra Palace Show from November 9th, 2018. The release will be widely available on all streaming platforms in April of 2021. In that Twitter announcement, the band released their Sub-Culture performance from the Palace Show.
Tickets for the celebratory homecoming show will be available this week. There will be a special fan pre-ordering event on Tuesday, December 8th. General ticket release will be on Thursday December 10th at 9am.
New Order was formed after the death of Ian Curtis forced the end of the original band Joy Division. The last few decades has been difficult on the English rock band because of the shadow they live in from the former success of Joy Division.
New Order has still managed to find mass success in tracks like Blue Monday released in the 80s, and in their 10th studio album Music Complete which was released in 2015. The band had not released any new music in 5 years before 2020.
On 8 September 2020, they finally released new music with the single Be a Rebel. The music video for the track was directed by NYSU and released on December 2.
It is unclear whether the band intends on releasing a full-length album in 2021, no announcements of new music have been as of this year. The band has not yet released any intentions of a UK Tour either, however they have played shows in the States in 2020.
While there are no announcements of upcoming tours, the band and their fans look forward to this long-awaited homecoming concert in Manchester. Due to New Order releasing a new single for the first time in 5 years, a music video and announcing this huge celebratory gig, the English electronic-rock band is set to make another comeback.
