Bristol electronic duo Fuck Buttons, have released their third album, entitled ‘Slow Focus’ today, following a strongly positive preliminary reaction.
Benjamin John Power and Andrew Hung met at art-school in 2004, and quickly developed a reputation for their intense, apocalyptic sound and unique performances, which included playing on Fisher-Price children’s toys. The duo signed to ATP Recordings in 2007, and released their debut ‘Street Horrrsing‘ in 2008 to critical acclaim, before touring North America with Canadian electronic icon Caribou.
Their sophomore release, ‘Tarot Sport‘, was similarly well-received, with two of its tracks featuring in the opening ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics.
‘Slow Focus’ has thus far achieved further critical recognition, the Guardian’s Alexis Petridis stating that, ‘Once again, the only real response is to listen and gawp’, while Pitchfork proclaimed that, ‘there are few albums this year that offer this much space to get lost in.’
Track listing for ‘Slow Focus’ is as follows:
