This lineup of events come as a result of COVID’s effects on grassroots music venues, many of which are still currently experiencing hardships and potential closures. Several big names committed to helping the cause last year. Now some have confirmed dates, however, there are more that have yet to be announced, such as Jamie xx and the Pet Shop Boys.
With each show being performed in smaller venues, it’s every fan’s dream to get to witness great acts in such intimate settings. But there’s a twist: fans cannot buy tickets to these shows. They are part of a fundraiser in which Passports asked for minimum donations of £5 via Crowdfunder, and those who donated could enter a drawing to win ticket to their chosen show (one could also enter the drawing for free by post). They have now raised over £137,000 to support the cause.
The entries are now closed, but you can still check their Crowdfunder page for updates on the artists who will perform, which is revealed in blocks, as well as when and where they will perform. You can also check the official website for that information and more here.
