Nafe Smallz has recruited Canadian rapper Tory Lanez for his new joint ‘Good Love’, which is set to have the summer on lock. This is the third single off Smallz’ upcoming 9-track EP also entitled ‘Good Love’ to be released on 21st June.
This dancehall inspired track serves as a nod to the heavy Caribbean influence in both London and Toronto. The jumpy instrumental and raunchy lyrics makes you want to grab your partner and hit the dancefloor. Along with a vibrant video baring resemblance to a carnival setting, it brings a summer vibe to this rainy weather.
The melodic rapper from Luton first gained traction following his 2015 hit, ‘Smokin’ which has accumulated just under 4 million views on YouTube. Known for being a power feature with a unique flow, Nafe Smallz’ last appearance was on Skepta’s ‘Greaze Mode’ single from his latest album ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’.
Drake’s initial endorsement of British rap back in 2014 gave wider exposure to the scene, as the similarities between the two countries are vast, ranging from the slang to politics. Signing to Skepta’s Boy Better Know label in 2016 and guest appearing at a Section Boyz show in London the same year proved his love for the music and invalidated claims of clout chasing.
Tory Lanez continues to bridge the gap between the U.K and North America and has been a vocal supporter of British music for some time. Collaborating with Stefflon Don in 2018 on her ‘Senseless Remix’ single and even surprising partygoers with a special performance at the social media star ImJustBait’s Easter party back in April.
