The awards ceremony will be taking place in the Genting Arena in Birmingham on the 10th December. All details regarding tickets can be found here. Last year saw a wide range of musicians perform for the BBC, including the likes of Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris and many more. The artists confirmed so far for this years awards ceremony are: Ellie Goulding, Hozier, Jess Glynne, Little Mix, Mumford and Sons, OMI and One Direction. We can definitely expect more artists to be confirmed for the ceremony as we get closer to the event.
The awards up for nomination are the likes of: British Artist of the Year, International Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, BBC Introducing Artist and we will see a new award this year ‘Live Performance of the Year’.
Popular DJs Fearne Cotton and Chris Evans are to present the awards.
Chris Evans had this to say on the matter:
“We had such a blast last year so I can’t wait to get back on stage and relive this amazing musical year of 2015.”
Both Jess Glynne and OMI have expressed their excitement at the opportunity to perform at the ceremony, with Glynne saying that:
“I was there last year at the inaugural awards, performing with Clean Bandit, and it was a great night, with a brilliant performance from Ed Sheeran among my personal favourites.”
OMI similarly expressed his excitement:
“I’m extremely excited as usual. I love being in the UK and feeling the British energy. I can’t wait to perform for my fans.”
The BBC Music Awards 2015 will be broadcast on both BBC Radio and BBC One on the TV; so even if you can’t get tickets you won’t miss a minute of the ceremony. With the confirmed artists performing already offering a mouth watering event, the prospect of the list of performers growing further is certainly an exciting one. It offers to be an event worth keeping an eye on.
