Mark Ronson is set to work with Miley Cyrus on a new song. High is taken from Cyrus’ fast approaching new album, Plastic Hearts. Cyrus’ and Ronsons’ collaborative track will be released with the Plastic Hearts drop tomorrow (November 27th).
Cyrus teased fans with a sneak peek of High via social media. Posting a vintage-style video, the Malibu songstress shared a few seconds of the upcoming track on Instagram.
In the video, you hear the mighty vocalist sing the poignant lyrics: “I don’t miss you but I think of you/I don’t know why I still feel high.” Fans erupted at the teaser post, which has received a whopping 714,000 views.
Within the caption, Cyrus wrote what seemed to be additional lyrics of the Ronson collaboration. Cyrus wrote the descriptive lyrics: “You are like a neon light shining through a door that I can’t keep closed”, heightening the excitement for the soon to be hit track.
The killer collaboration on High will not be the only team-up between the close friends, as Ronson confirmed that he worked on three tracks for Plastic Hears. Earlier this month, the legendary producer took to Instagram to praise Cyrus and divulge some details about his work on Plastic Hearts.
Sharing a stunning photograph of Cyrus on the album’s vinyl cover, Ronson spoke about High and relayed his admiration for longtime friend Cyrus. In the lengthy caption, Ronson said: “It makes it so exciting to see these three tracks real, in the flesh and on the album.”
Ronson continued, conveying his joy towards working with Cyrus on High: The Acceptable In the 80s singer said of their track: “Honestly, High is one of the most beautiful vocals/melodies I’ve ever recorded. And wait until you hear the harmonies.”
Gathering over 33,000 likes, the post was met with a warm reception from fans. Mark Ronson is not the only British artist that Cyrus has enlisted for her new album. Cyrus recruited Dua Lipa to duet with her on Prisoner.
Cyrus premiered Prisoner with vocalist Lipa on her YouTube channel on November 20th. The music video to Prisoner can be watched in full here.
Plastic Hearts is a fourteen track record. As well as collaborating with Mark Ronson and Dua Lipa, Cyrus will release two covers on the album: Heart of Glass, by Blondie, and Zombie, by The Cranberries.
