Welsh singer Marina, formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds, has posted an 18-second teaser clip of her new song ‘New America’, the sixth track on her new album ‘Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land’. This sudden post has led fans to expect the release of ‘New America’ very soon.
The clip shows a video of Marina’s iTunes application in a pink glitter filter and the following lyrics can be heard: “Fucked with the food chain/ Fucked with the farming too/ And now our food don’t taste/ Like it’s meant to do/ They’ve got blood on their-“

‘Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land’ will be Marina’s fifth studio album, and it is due to be released on 11th of June this year. The first single from the album ‘Man’s World’ was released in November last year, along with two remixes and a stripped version. The second single ‘Purge The Poison’ was released in April and the third single of the same name of the album in May this year.
Marina has released three albums under the name Marina and the Diamonds – ‘The Family Jewels’, ‘Electra Heart’ and ‘Froot’ in 2015. In 2018, she decided to drop Diamonds from her stage name and to simply go with Marina. In an interview with Dazed, she said: “It took me well over a year to figure out that a lot of my identity was tied up in who I was as an artist, and there wasn’t much left of who I was.” Since the name change, she has released her fourth album ‘Love + Fear’ in 2019.
