Marina, formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds, has released the track Man’s World today November 18th. This is the first single release off her next upcoming album, still untitled.
The single was released alongside a technicolor music video featuring Marina and many other women standing against the suppression that women have faced throughout history and into today, and was notably created by an all-female team. The track Man’s World is a feminist anthem and was also written, produced and directed entirely by women.
Among these women include the song’s producer Jenn Decilveo who has worked with big names such as Demi Lovato. Grammy winner Emily Lazar engineered the track and has worked with feminist icons such as Haim and Sia. Marina however wrote Man’s World alone and was the director for it’s official music video.
After Marina changed her stage name from Marina and the Diamonds, she released the two-part album Love & Fear in April of 2019. She went on to perform a number of sold-out gigs throughout the UK that year.
This year Marina released About Love which is a part of the soundtrack for the movie To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You. Man’s World is the first single released this year that will feature on her fifth studio album.
Marina had a world tour scheduled called The Inbetweenie Tour for her Love & Fear era however it was cancelled due to safety concerns surrounding the Covid-19 global pandemic. There are no scheduled upcoming tours as of yet.
Marina’s announced on social-media that her next album will be coming up in the months preceding this single. However, there is no specific date for the release of the album nor is there a name or track list announced.
Man’s World is now available for streaming on all platforms and the music video is available on YouTube. Marina has released a string of merchandise for the track which can all be found on her website or through her multiple social media posts on the subject.
