Brighton & Hove Pride, the UK’s largest pride festival, has confirmed Mariah Carey and The Pussycat Dolls as this year’s musical headliners. The festival will take place for two days from Saturday 31st, July to Sunday 2nd, August, with Carey scheduled to perform on the first day while The Pussycat Dolls on the second day. Tickets are available for purchase now here, but the availability is very low at the time of writing.
The annual LGBTQ+ celebration at Brighton will return for its 30th year. This year’s pride is also rebranding to ‘Fabuloso Pride in the Park’, with the theme of ‘a fantastic and fabulous celebration of who you are!’ During the two days of the festival, there will be main stages for musical guests, together with other intriguing attractions, namely Cabaret Tents, Queer Town, the BAME stage, dance tents and many more.
One of the already announced musical headliners is Mariah Carey. The 49-year-old diva is confirmed to grace the pride with her elusive and incredible performance and numerous megahits. The “Vision of Love” songstress will play a full 75 minute show, with the inside news that the singer is offered a six-figure deal to perform at the pride.
The GLADD and Grammy winner’s upcoming gig at Brighton & Hove Pride will be her first show in the UK outside London over two years. Her last gig outside the capital was the one for the ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ Tour in Leeds in 2018, while her latest tour, ‘Caution’ World Tour, only took place inside London.
Director of Brighton & Hove Pride Paul Kemp expressed delightfully about having the best-selling female artist of all time as the headliner: “We are beyond thrilled that Mariah is joining our LGBTQ+ celebrations for our 30th anniversary. Mariah is a staunch LGBTQ+ ally and having her perform at Pride really helps us highlight our campaigning for LGBTQ+ equality to a global audience.”
