The singer, who is presently the highest-charting British female in Spotify’s global charts, has a way with lyrics and is one of the most honest and sincere lyricists, at the moment. In her singles she has a natural ability to address topics that others may find difficult, such as the challenges of identity and relationships, with the type of sensibility and perceptiveness of someone with a few more years of wisdom.
The twice BRIT nominated singer/song-writer is set to make 2019 her biggest yet, as she continues striving to exceed her high expectations. While, we can expect more from Mabel, this year, her ambitious debut album, ‘High Expectations’, is undoubtedly on track to become the soundtrack of summer and for some, the soundtrack of many people’s lives, with honest lyrics that chronicle mental health struggles, young love, girl power and identity.
Speaking about her debut album, ‘High Expectations’, Mabel, said: “High Expectations the title says it all. It’s about the expectations I have of myself, other people’s expectations of me and vice versa, especially in relationships. The general topic of the project is the negatives and positives that come with that. I want to send a positive message to everyone that’s going to listen to it. I’ve gained so much confidence from writing this album and that’s what I want people to take from it.”
The news of the release date of her debut album, ‘High Expectations’, comes after Mabel announced plans to tour with Khalid, later this year, cementing the singer/song-writer as one of the hottest acts around today. Mabel will be supporting Khalid throughout his UK and European tour dates, this September and October, with the UK leg of the 18-date tour set to kick off, in London, on the 17th of September 2019 before concluding, in Belfast, on the 25th of September 2019.
