Singer-songwriter Louis Tomlinson sent a heart-warming video message to Spread a Smile, an organisation which aims to entertain and help children and teenagers in hospital. The London based charity recently published a video on Twitter, recorded by the former One Direction singer.
“I just wanted to send you all all my love, I’m really sorry I can’t come into the hospital to see you all in person, but I just wanted to send a little message. So, sending you all loads of love”, Tomlinson says. His message is featured on the so called SmileTV, which also includes video messages from celebrities such as Tomlinson’s One Direction colleague Liam Payne, Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards and her boyfriend, Liverpool player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as well as comedian Harry Hill.

Louis Tomlinson is known for his charity work, helping and donating to various charity organisations. Although the singer tends to donate a lot, he likes to keep a low profile on his donations, many of them are only getting in the eye of the public when his fans spot donations or the charities themselves mention them, just like Spread a Smile did.
One of Tomlinson’s public appearances at a charity event was at the 2016 Soccer Aid, where he was teamed up against his One Direction colleague Niall Horan. A year earlier, in 2015, he hosted the Believe in Magic Cinderella Ball for terminally ill children, whilst donating £2,000,000 himself. Tomlinson is also a patron for dozens of charities such as the Eden Dora Trust and the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, for whom he once bought their entire Amazon wishlist.
His fans love him for his general charity work, but especially for his charity work related to his fans. One of his younger fans is Rylee, who suffers from cerebral palsy. Tomlinson donated $10.000 to her crowdfunding page back in 2018 to help her family make their home more accessible, and in 2019 Rylee got to meet her idol.

Tomlinson started his first solo world tour in March but had to postpone the entire tour after only two shows due to the coronavirus. In the meantime, he’s spending lockdown sending video messages to charities, talking to his fans online and reminding them to stay home.
