London Grammar have released a new high contrast remix version of ‘Lord It’s A Feeling’ via Ministry of Sound yesterday. The single is the fifth track on their album ‘Californian Soil’ and has elements of trance and trip-hop. The album features other previously released singles such as ‘Baby It’s You’, ‘Lose Your Head’ and ‘How Does It Feel’. The visualiser for ‘Lord It’s A Feeling (High Contrast Remix)’ can be seen below.
Vocalist Hannah Reid said in a press release: “’Lord It’s A Feeling’ was essentially a spoken word poem to start with, it was very simple and also the hardest song to get right because it’s unusual. It means a lot to me this song and I felt very vulnerable doing it. I hope you love it as much as we do.”
‘Californian Soil’ was released in April and shot to first place in the UK Album Charts. However, this is not the first time London Grammar has had a number one album. ‘Truth Is a Beautiful Thing’, their second studio album released in 2017, also went to number one in the charts and was certified Gold by the BPI. The indie pop band was also involved in a unique collaboration with Calm, a meditation app, to release new versions of the songs ‘All My Love’, ‘Californian Soil’ and ‘Lord It’s A Feeling’ to help users “relax, unwind and focus”.
London Grammar will perform at Radio 1’s Big Weekend of Live Music which takes place from the 29th to the 31st of May. They were also announced as one of the headliners of All Points East on 27th of August. The band will also go on a tour on November to promote the new album ‘Californian Soil’, including venues such as Alexandra Palace in London.
