Little Mix’s new raunchy album is sure to get pulses racing according to songwriter Kamille who reported to ‘The Daily Mirror,’ that they used their, “Own sexual energy,” to write songs for their new album, ‘Confetti.‘
Kamille (real name Camille Angelina Purcell) has been collaborating with the famous girl group since their early days and has seen them develop from a teen pop band, into young women. She has co written 7 tracks on their new album, ‘Confetti‘ as she aimed to push boundaries with the album that requires parental guidance. In the video for the album track ‘Sweet Melody,’ the girls are wearing sexy outfits and perform a raunchy dance routine.
She told Britain’s Daily Mirror, “A big part of that is because the girls are not young anymore. They are grown women who have their own minds, their own sexual energy, and sometimes they wanna just say some sh*t!”
She added, “It’s been a journey, having to keep it super PG. I’m definitely someone who always wants to push that, and we have with this new album. I do like making things a bit controversial – I think that’s what sells and what catches people’s ear.”
Kamille has an excellent working relationship with the girl band, made up of Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards with whom she helped pick up a Brit Award for their global hit, ‘Shout Out To My Ex.‘
She talks about their relationship to The Daily Mirror, “Over the years, we’ve built up a lot of trust. I think it comes from having success together. They’ve got to the point where they can trust that I’m gonna go in the studio and write something that’s gonna reflect them. We know each other so well, I can literally just write something that they probably would have said. I try and build that with any artists I’m working with. I really like to have a relationship. Just being a friend to people I think is the most important thing.”
In the track ‘Nothing but my feelings,’ the girls sing raunchy, suggestive lyrics which include, “I know that we will never work out, but if you’re looking for a workout, you should come round.” They then continue, “I’m laying here in nothing but my feelings, thinking ’bout our shadows on the ceiling,” as written in The Sun newspaper.
This is just one example of how the girls have added spice to their lyrics and references to their sex lives. ‘Rendezvous,’ is another example of how they have used saucy lyrics, as noted in The Sun, when in the chorus they sing, “How’d you feel about a rendezvous? Rendezvous? Time for two? I ain’t tryna fall in love with you, just tryna do a rendezvous.”
As Kylie Minogue releases her 15th album, ”Disco” In the same week as Little Mix’s new album, there will be a race in the charts for the Number 1 spot next week. It will be a tough battle as both albums are excellent, but Little Mix will be hoping to hit the top spot having ramped up their raunchiness with ‘Confetti.’
