Liam Gallagher is set to become the first recipient of the Rock Icon Award at the 2019 MTV European Music Awards at the weekend. The 2019 MTV EMAs are set to take place on November, Sunday 3 in Seville. There will be performances from Dua Lipa, Akon and Halsey.
Green Day are scheduled to headline the MTV World Stage Seville in the city’s Plaza de Espanña the day before. Becky G will host the awards show.
Not only is Liam the nominee for the Rock Icon Award, he will also perform a set. The ‘Why Me?, Why Not’ singer will perform one of his original solo tracks and an Oasis one. Liam posted the news to his Twitter about the event, with MTV captioning their own post, “The legendary @liamgallagher is our 2019 Rock Icon!”

Speaking to Zane Lowe on his Apple Music Beats 1 show, Liam announced he’d already decided on a title for his third solo album, despite his second only coming out on September 20. Liam said, “Yeah. The next one is going to be called ‘Come On You Know’, pure positive.”
“As soon as I get the titles man, we are off.”
Isolated vocals from Liam Gallagher lifted from the classic Oasis hit ‘Supersonic’ were recently released online. The vocals come from Oasis’s headline show at Glastonbury 1995. Described as “biblical”, and “historical”, the video on Youtube was edited together by Oasis fan site user Maxi Gonzales.
