The tumultuous relationship of Liam and Noel Gallagher never seems to go away, but following the critical and commercial success of the band’s documentary Supersonic, the reunion rumours were stronger than ever, with bookmakers even suspending betting on the band reforming.
Speaking with Johnny Vaughan at “Radio X’s Evening In Conversation With,” Liam elaborated on his complicated relationship with his brother, and the obstacles that stand in the way of the two re-joining forces, suggesting that Noel “wants to be a solo star, he’s always wanted to be that.”
Clearly trying to bait a reaction, Liam continued to heap blame on his older brother, suggesting that a potential reunification of the band was entirely “down to our kid […] Noel needs to be surrounded by yes-men. And I ain’t one.”
This is not the first time the Liam has attempted to pressure his sibling into communicating with him. Earlier this month, in an interview with The Sunday Times, Gallagher admitted “”Obviously [our mum would] like us to be chatting, sit around the table at Christmas. But it’s a stupid standoff, and we should know better, as we have kids.”
However, just a day after this interview, on October 3, Liam took to Twitter, following the premier of Supersonic, to slam his brother for ‘blanking’ the event, also taking a swipe at the media for not ‘hanging’ him for it, as he believes they would for him.
Noel Gallagher aka shit bag blanks premiere not 1 fucking rag mention it if it was the other way round I’d be hung bunch of cunts LG

Despite this, the singer stated “If people think me having a dig on Twitter is what’s stopping the band getting back together, they’re mad.”
The only comments that Noel has made in regards to the band were on October 14, in a video interview uploaded to Oasis’ Vevo page, regarding the band’s divisive third album Be Here Now.
The reflective interview shows Noel criticising the band’s decision not to have a break before releasing Be Here Now, following a stressful tour of America ” looking back on it after 20 years…. we should never have made that record then,”
Gallagher Sr. also waxed lyrical about “what a colossal thing Oasis was in the lives of anybody who gave a shit about music,” however even this managed to incur the wrath of his younger sibling, who once again took to Twitter to vent.
We were this we were that I was great I’m still great fuck of you little toad money money money that’s you ABBA aka NG

Earlier, on October 12, former Oasis manager Alan McGee discussed the likelihood of a reunion with NME. When questioned on the chances, McGee responded “Do you mean with Noel Gallagher? Absolutely zero,” potentially disappointing expectant fans with by suggesting that “If anything came out of that film [Supersonic], it was that it’s done, it’s finished, don’t spoil the fucking legend.”
Naturally, news of Liam’s debut solo album has become rather sparse, following his interview with the Telegraph at the beginning of the month, which confirmed that he had signed a deal with Warner Bros, citing it as his ” last chance to dance.”
