Lewis Knaggs has released the music video for his new song I’ll Survive, from his upcoming debut album. As a cinematographer himself, Lewis’ vision really comes through in this video. The song and video explore the whirlwind of emotions that come with the loss of a loved one. In an Instagram post, Lewis announced he was dedicating the song to his friend, saying; “I want to dedicate this song to my dear friend Nathaniel, who tragically passed away this month. This ones for you my bro I will miss you forever.”
Lewis shared in a press release the meaning behind the song, saying; “This is a song about surviving through the bad things that can happen in life. The death of a loved ones, the end of a relationship, either a friend or a lover, or even a pandemic… It is in the hands of whoever is listening, whatever it might be for them whilst interpreting the lyrics. I originally wrote this song around the time of my grandmother’s passing. That was almost exactly a year ago. Pretty much a year to the day that I lost a best friend, just a few weeks ago, in a very tragic and sudden way. This song has taken an even more prevalent position in my mind and heart as a result.”
Lewis Knaggs is a London based Director/Cinematographer and Founder of LSK Productions. Lewis has worked with acts such as from Tom Walker, Gang of Youths, Post Malone and The XX to iconic brands like Ray-Ban and Gibson. We do not know a release date for his album yet but after hearing I’ll Survive and his single Hold On, which was released last month, the tone for this album has definitely been set and it is quite exciting.
