Lewis Capaldi has cancelled shows due to fears of ‘long term damage’ to his voice. Since performing at the 02 Academy Brixton, (November 29), and suffering problems with his voice on stage, he has been since advised to cancel the remaining shows.
He was due to play at Nottingham’s Rock City on December 2 and O2 Academy Sheffield yesterday.
He posted a tweet to his fanbase for their support during the gig, expressing his gratitude, “Brixton I can’t thank you all enough for singing for me tonight when I lost my voice. Sorry if I let anyone down, I’ll be back soon enough”.
Capaldi cancelled his O2 Guildhall gig in Southampton, (November 28), in a bid to be ready for his Brixton show, (November 29). He had to further cancel his UEA show in Norwich on November 30. The remaining dates in the tour are listed beneath.
5/12 – Usher Hall, Edinburgh.
7/12 – O2 Academy, Glasgow.
8/12 – O2 Academy, Glasgow.
These three dates are set to go ahead, as according to The Independent.

Recently Capaldi released his latest single, ‘Before You Go’. The track will be included on the extended edition of his debut album, ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’.
In a Twitter post he described the track as “seriously one of the most personal songs I’ve ever written.”
“Less than two years ago I was lucky enough to get to gig in small pubs and bars back home in Scotland and somehow I am writing this with a number one single in America and getting to play to and meet thousands of ya every night all over the world.”
In March 2020, Lewis is set to begin his sold out Arena tour.
