It has been reported that the upcoming UK and European tour of American singer/songwriter Lana Del Rey is cancelled due to the singer’s illness. Titled ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell!’ Tour, the shows were scheduled to kick off on February 25 at The O2, London, followed by three more dates in Manchester, Glasgow, and Birmingham. Other dates in the European leg are also confirmed to be cancelled as well.
The news came loose after those who have tickets for Del Rey’s shows received an email confirming the cancellation of the tour. In the email also includes a statement from the singer herself, which reads: “Sorry to let everyone down so last minute but this illness has taken me by surprise and have totally lost my singing voice. Dr has advised 4 weeks off for the moment. I hate to let everyone down but I need to get well. Love Lana.”
Elsewhere, the “Mariners Apartment Complex” singer is scheduled to appear next at Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona on June 5. And she will return to the UK again for Glastonbury this summer. Let’s hope that the singer is fully recovered to deliver amazing performance for us.
It must have been quite a bad luck for her lately. Earlier, the “Summertime Sadness” had planned to drop a spoken album in January, but it was then delayed due to the theft of her sister Chuck Grant’s art. Also, Norman Fucking Rockwell! lost to Billie Eilish’s WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? for Album of the Year at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.
On the bright side, she promised to release a surprise album titled White Hot Forever sometime this year. And for what’s it worth to mourn the lost chance to see Del Rey live and to hope for her return, here is the perfect track to cry to:
