Lana Del Rey was awarded with Song of The Decade for ‘Video Games’ at the Q Awards in London last night. The 2011 track from her second album ‘Born To Die’ reached the ninth spot in the UK Charts and is considered as Rey’s breakout hit, despite a lack of exposure on the radio.
“I’m so honoured. This is unreal,” Lana said as she accepted the award via video link on the night. “I just can’t tell you how much this means,”
She added. “I got my start in London so I wish I could be there, but I’m there in spirit.”
Stormzy received the award for Best Solo Act, pipping Liam Gallagher to the win. The rapper said. “This means a lot to me. It’s been a very crazy year for myself and my team and my family… I’m at a loss for words.”
The 1975 took home the award for Best act in the world today and Dizzee Rascal collected the accolade for Innovation In Sound. Little Simz was crowned for Best Vocal Performance, with Glaswegian singer/comedian Lewis Capaldi scooping the prize for Best Track with his song ‘Someone You Loved’.

Lana’s sixth studio album, ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell’ was released on August 30. It was awarded 9.4 in a review by Pitchfork.
Jenn Pelly said of the album, “Norman Fucking Rockwell! is the apotheosis of Lana Del Rey, songs of curiosity and of consequence, darkness and light, a time capsule of 2019, proof that a person cannot escape herself but she can change.”
