American singer Lana Del Rey has announced a huge 2025 UK and Ireland stadium tour in support of her unreleased album, “The Right Person Will Stay”. The tour will include five shows, marking her first stadium tour in the UK and Ireland.
“The Right Person Will Stay” will be the singer’s tenth studio album, marking a venture into the country genre. She will collaborate again with Jack Antonoff, and Luke Laird, a music producer and writer well known for working in country music. This July she released “Tough”, a collaboration with Quavo. The track combines Quavo’s quintessential rap style and Lana Del Rey’s dreamy vocals, with a clear guitar tune that sounds decidedly country. The hook is catchy in the common country-pop style with the lyrics, “Tough like the scuff on a pair of old leather boots / Like the blue-collar, red-dirt attitude /Like a .38 made out of brass”, standing out in particular.
Lana Del Rey last performed in the UK in August of this year at the Reading & Leeds Festivals. She also headlined the Hyde Park Festival and Glastonbury in 2023. Besides this, she hasn’t done a tour in the UK since 2017 when she promoted her fifth studio album “Lust For Life”.
Lana Del Rey is a New York-native pop singer who has been active since 2005. She released her first album, “Lana Del Rey”, in 2010, but her first commercial success came when she released the single “Video Games” in 2011. The song went viral, and she signed with labels Polydor and Interscope shortly after. She then released her second album, “Born to Die,” in 2012, with the single “Summertime Sadness” from the same album leading to further chart success. Whilst she has never achieved a number one song in the UK, six of her singles have reached the top ten in the official UK charts, and she has achieved six number one albums including: Born To Die (2012), Ultraviolence (2014), Lust For Life (2017), Norman F**king Rockwell! (2019), Chemtrails Over The Country Club (2021) and Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd.? (2023).
After a history of constantly reinventing and experimenting with her sound, Del Rey’s newest album is set to explore the country genre whilst still maintaining a sound that is quintessentially her. The album “The Right Person Will Stay”, originally called “Lasso”, is set to release 21 May 2025 following delays. In an interview Vogue this August, Del Rey said, “If anything, it will just be a little lighter lyrically, and more pointed in a classic country, American, or Southern Gothic production—which again, so many of my songs already are.” In an earlier interview with People, on why the album has faced delays she said, “‘Cause I don’t usually feel like I need a pause in the creation process, but if there’s a literal energetic pause that almost feels like physical, then I have to wait and I don’t know why.” The commitment to her craft is what makes Lana Del Rey’s music constantly authentic despite the exploration of sound and genres from album to album.
