Lady Gaga has announced a gigantic London concert in support of the upcoming sixth studio album. Titled after the new album, the show will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 30. Also, the album will drop prior to the tour on April 10 (via Interscope). Tickets to the show will be up for purchase on March 10 via Ticketmaster.
Chromatica is the sixth full-length from the global pop star, which is set for the release next month. The “Bad Romance” hitmaker already shared “Stupid Love” as the first single off the record. The track is a return to her signature pop sound, after venturing a new sonic territory with country rock on 2016’s Joanne. She also premiered the music video with the theme of a superhero coming to save humans with the power of love. Listen to the track and see the video below.
It has been over four years since the solo work from the now 33-year-old star. Nevertheless, the past year has been quite big for the singer, for she landed an iconic role of the acclaimed A Star Is Born in which she earned an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Critics’ Choice Movie Award for “Shallow“, along with numerous nominations for her acting.
Gaga then kept working continuously for the comeback record and finally announced the release of LG6 (the fan-based initials for her sixth album). Bloodpop is named as the main producer of the album, who is Gaga’s frequent collaborator since her Joanne era.
About the record, the “Poker Face” trend-setter said that Chromatica is the return to dance-pop sound, and the title came from the term ‘chromatic’ that relates to a wide spectrum of colours. “BloodPop brought it up, and we talked about how it seems to be about colors… also music is made of a chromatic scale,” she explained. “So it’s all the colors, all the sounds. We’re talking about inclusivity and life.”
The album is already up for pre-order, and it contains 16 tracks, with “Stupid Love” as the first single produced by Max Martin and Bloodpop. The tracklist is rumoured to have Ariana Grande and k-pop phenomenon BLACKPINK as guests on the record.
Following “Stupid Love” released last week, Gaga has just announced a new huge tour to further the hype of the new LP. The tour includes several dates across the US and Europe. Unfortunately, London is the only city where the tour will land in the UK leg. The show will take place at the 60,000-capacity stadium at Tottenham Hotspur in North London.
‘The Chromatica Ball Tour’ is the star’s first headlining show in the UK since ‘The Joanne World Tour’ in 2018. Every purchase for the ticket will partially go to the donation for the Born This Way Foundation, which is co-founded with her mother Cynthia Germanotta in 2012.
