Kneecap have announced their largest live show to date, set for Dublin’s Fairview Park 19 June 2025, a milestone event capping a year of substantial accomplishments across multiple media. The announcement, posted on the trio’s social media accounts on 28 October, included a statement directed towards fans, particularly those in Dublin, highlighting the magnitude of this event. “Well well well Báile Átha Cliath [Dublin],” the group wrote, “As we start today on five Sold Out Vicar Streets we’re announcing our biggest ever live show.”
Kneecap’s rise to prominence in recent years has been marked by high-profile performances and critically acclaimed projects. Their 2024 album, Fine Art, was met with critical praise, receiving a five-star review from NME, which praised the album as: “an evening of getting laid, getting out of your head, sniffing and selling gear, pegging it from the police. This isn’t hedonism for the sake of it, mind. Feeling voiceless, powerless, unseen, unheard and unwanted, Kneecap formed to represent their reality in music and deliver it in their native tongue; a language that many in Northern Ireland wanted extinguished.”
This summer, Kneecap delivered two well-received performances at Glastonbury, with their late-night set generating substantial attention, with Noel Gallagher among those who noted the group’s stage presence. Subsequently, Kneecap embarked on a successful autumn tour of the United States, performing sold-out shows across major cities. The band is currently embarking on a five-night run at Dublin’s Vicar Street, with all shows fully sold out, before moving on to an arena performance in Belfast.
The Fairview Park performance will also precede several other major shows planned for 2025, a year that appears to be set as a pivotal one for the group. Among these, Kneecap will open for Fontaines D.C. at their performances in both London’s Finsbury Park in July and Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park in August. The band is also scheduled to appear at the 2000Trees Festival, where they will perform alongside acts such as Million Dead, Taking Back Sunday, and Alexisonfire.
Kneecap’s momentum is underscored by their recent cinematic recognition. The band recently played themselves in a riotous fictionalised retelling of the band’s formation. Also starring Michael Fassbender, the film handles issues of identity in post Troubles Northern Ireland with the characteristic levity fans have come to expect from Kneecap’s music, with a heavy dose of influence from Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting. The production has since become Ireland’s official entry for Best International Feature Film at the 2025 Academy Awards, while the group plans to return to the studio to work with producer Toddla T on a follow-up to Fine Art, according to a Reddit post from the band.
Tickets for the 19 June show will be available through here starting at 10:00 am on Saturday, 2 November, with an exclusive pre-sale opening on Wednesday, 30 October.
