With a new EP fast approaching, Keg have stepped up their wonky post-punk antics with their latest single titled; “Elephant”. The New EP will go by the name of Girders (out on the 2nd of September 2022) and follows their debut EP Assembly which arrived in October last year. News of the latest release should raise hopes for some more wacked out weirdness as the 7-piece Brighton gang continue to fizz into stranger territory.
“Elephant” follows on from the band’s former works with more disjointed skips, hops and absurdly dry delivery. New listeners will appreciate the Talking Heads style rhythmic choices and modern shouty- speaky vocals that are seemingly all the rage about town these days. The video may leave some scarred if a little confused and is best left unremarked upon (besides the grinning fried egg in a comically large frying pan). See it for yourself in the video down below:
Discussing the song’s origins, the band stated; “Elephantine in rhythm, an excessive foray into our sillier instrumental faculties. Loosely written about a mass camel cull in Australia, sniped from a helicopter.”
The official tracklisting of Girders is as follows;
1. 5/4
2. Girders
3. Sing Again
4. Elephant
5. Kids
6. NPC
The new EP is available to pre-order from their official site along with their debut offering Assembly.
