Kasabian have announced in a post on Twitter that work has started on their upcoming seventh album. The image in the post shows a fist with marker pen scribbled over it, displaying the words, “Light BBQ, tune guitar, album 7″. This news comes soon after Serge Pizzorno recently completed work on his debut solo effort, the S.L.P, (an acronym for Sergio Lorenzo Pizzorno), which is set for a release date on August 30. Just last week, he released a single from the album, ‘The Youngest Gary’.
Discussing with NME recently about the upcoming seventh album, and his own solo work, the lead songwriter explained that work had already begun. He described his creative process in the making of the new music.
“If something feels good, then you should follow the art,” he said. “Great zones don’t come from comfort zones. This feels great now, and it’s great that I’ve got the time to do it.”
He added. “Kasabian is a huge machine that we’ve created. There’s a routine and you’re safe in that place, but you need something else to happen. Sometimes there needs to be a storm in the harbour. You need for everyone to go, ‘Woah, what’s going on?’ When the day breaks, you see the clarity”.

The songwriter said of the rapper, “We had a mutual friend and the collab just came about”. The S.L.P are set for a number of tour dates throughout September, as listed below.
