R&B/Soul singer JONES has launched a brand-new era with a new single entitled “Giving It Up“. The track is her first work in two years since the release of two EPs—’London‘ and ‘New York‘—in 2018, and it is also JONES’ new music with BMG after parting from indie record 37 Adventures.
Cherie Jones, who prefers to go by a capitalised surname as her stage name, finally makes a proper return to the music scene with a brand-new song and home label. Talking to The Line of Best Fit, the songstress expressed her excitement to share a new era with the world: “I’m excited. It’s been ages. I hope that it’ll be received with love in the world. But I love it, I’m proud of it.”
The London-based singer also detailed her experience of working under a new home at BMG. “It’s a different process, there’s lots more people and lots more ideas, but I mean, I guess we’ll see how everything feels when we’re out there. I definitely feel really excited about getting to work with all the different teams and hopefully we can spread things even further than before using the lovely foundations that I’ve set up already.”
About “Giving It Up“, JONES told Dork that it was a “chocolate addiction confessional turned audio diary entry about a story where I found love in a very unexpected person“. This new summer vibe track is also served up with a beautiful music video featuring the singer singing in different, eye-pleasing scenes of nature.

JONES first emerged into the music scene with lush soul track “Indulge” and a debut EP with the same name in 2015. The track was recognised by its smooth R&B sound and the singer’s graceful vocal, which is perfect for a cool, sunny day with a nice cup of tea.
A year after, the gorgeous vocalist unveiled her debut studio album, ‘New Skin‘, via 37 Adventures. The album was met with positive reception for JONES’ soulful vocal and rich old-school R&B tunes, spawning singles like “Hoops” and “Melt“.
