Jimmy Eat World are coming back to the UK, and they are bringing PUP with them. The pair are hitting the road together this November and they are wrapping up their tour at London’s Alexandra Palace.
Jimmy Eat World have just announced a UK and European headline tour.
The Arizona pop-punk heroes will be crossing the pond with the powerful PUP, in November, for a seven-date run at some huge venues, including their biggest ever headline show in the capital — at London’s Ally Pally.
This is Jimmy Eat World’s first time across the water in some years after having headlined 2000trees in 2022. What’s even more exciting is a press release that teases that Jimmy Eat World are currently in the studio ‘working on new music’. So, it is possible to see a setlist that contains the bangers we know along with some potential new material.
Jimmy Eat World is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Mesa, Arizona. The band is composed of lead vocalist and lead guitarist Jim Adkins, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch, and drummer Zach Lind. They have released ten studio albums, the last nine featuring the current line-up.
The four-piece’s commercial breakthrough came with the release of several singles from their album Bleed American (2001), four of which charted within the top 20 positions of the Alternative Songs chart, with “The Middle” reaching No. 1. Their follow-up album, Futures (2004), featured the No. 1 song “Pain”.
The RIAA certified Bleed American platinum and Futures gold, rewarding the two albums for selling over 1.5 million records. The band’s sixth LP, Chase This Light (2007), became their highest-charting album and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. The band released their tenth album, Surviving, in October 2019.
PUP (abbreviation for Pathetic Use of Potential) is a Canadian punk rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario in 2010, originally under the name Topanga. PUP’s debut album PUP was released on October 8, 2013, on Royal Mountain Records. In December 2013, PUP signed with SideOneDummy Records and re-released their debut album in the United States on April 8, 2014. The group was in the studio in late 2015 recording their second album The Dream Is Over which was released on May 27, 2016, through SideOneDummy. The band’s third album, titled Morbid Stuff, was released on April 5, 2019. This Place Sucks Ass, a six-track EP, was released on October 27, 2020. Their fourth album, The Unraveling of PUPTheBand, was released on April 1, 2022.
