Jessie Ware has delayed the release of the fourth studio album, ‘What’s Your Pleasure?‘, once again. Set to drop next Friday, the album is now scheduled for release on June 26, as the single does not wish her music to not “distract” from the ongoing movements against racism at the moment.
“It’s been brought to my attention that June 19 is in fact a special date in American history,” Ware spoke in the announcement of the album postponement. June 19, aka Juneteenth and Freedom Day, is an American holiday that commemorates the Emancipation Proclamation back in 1865 in Texas.
With respect to such significant day, the “Say You Love Me” singer has decided to move the release date back for one more week. “It’s an incredibly important day for black voices, and I don’t want to distract from those voices or those experiences or stories in any way.”
“And therefore I have decided to move my album ‘What’s Your Pleasure?’ back one week to come out on June 26 globally. This means the world to me and I appreciate your understanding in this. Thanks so much,” Ware added.
This is the second time the songstress has postponed her album. The initial release date was June 5, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she deemed appropriate to move back the date a little. However, with the date rescheduled to June 19, it collided with an important day for black history, so Ware once again pushed back the release to the end of June.
“Save a Kiss” is the latest preview from the already-acclaimed record. The track is a streak of impressive club bangers of ‘What’s Your Pleasure?‘, led by “Spotlight” and “Ooh La La“.
Earlier last week, the London singer also announced a new tour for this upcoming 12-track LP. There will be eight dates, starting next April, with one show at O2 Academy Brixton, London. For more information, visit here.
