Jammz, London MC, will release his hotly-anticipated follow up EP to his 2016 ‘Warrior’ EP, in November 2018. The rapper and producer will be releasing ‘Warrior 2′, on the 30th of November 2018, through I Am Grime. The MC’s new eight-track instalment, titled ‘Warrior 2’, is inspired by his desire to, “overcome the everyday obstacles and challenges that stand in between people and their goals” according to a press release. Much like ‘Warrior’, the new release is intense and frustrated, it offers up rapid-fire lyricism that encapsulates life in London.
Speaking about the EP, via a press release, Jammz, said: “To me, Warrior represents the ideas of creating a path from your current situation to find a better place.” Jammz earlier in the year partnered up with, rising Brighton-via-Bristol, producer Jook to release ‘No Remorse’, which was released through Sector 7.
The East London-born rappers, started to make a name for himself, in 2014 and 2015, on London’s radio circuit, appearing regularly on Rinse FM, Radar Radio, NTS, Mode FM, and BBC 1xtra. This time also saw the MC team up with both established DJs like Slimzee, Spooky, Bok Bok and Spyro and newcomers like Moleskin.
Jammz released his debut EP ‘Hit Then Run’, in 2015, which quickly became a cult classic, the lead track was played regularly on BBC Radio 1Xtra and Noisey’s number 3 grime track of that year. Jammz’ subsequent singles including ‘Final Warning’ and ‘London Living’ further established the MC, as one of grime’s best new hit-makers.
His live reputation is also quickly on the rise: as he’s played Glastonbury, Eskimo Dance, Outlook, Night Slugs and Bestival, has headlined FWD. Meanwhile, in March 2016, Jammz supported Kano on the UK leg of his ‘Made In The Manor’ tour and featured on the front cover of the Observer Music Magazine, alongside Krept & Konan, Stormzy, Novelist and Little Sims, as part of an article titled ‘How British MCs Found a Voice of Their Own’. In July 2016, he featured in GQ’s documentary The Business of Grime.
In November 2016 Jammz released his ‘Warrior’ EP to acclaim from Fader, Complex, FACT Mag, Noisey and many more. This year also saw him perform his first London headline show in December of that year. In 2017 he collaborated with DJ Q on the single ‘Who’s That Girl’, and released the singles ‘Oh Please’ and ‘Know Yourself’ (with Westy).
