The former Reuben frontman has made your Monday a lot more bearable with the news that he is releasing a double album this autumn.
Five years since Reuben, the underground heroes who tore the music scene several new arseholes throughout the noughties, disbanded in 2008, their energetic and multi talented frontman is back, with new album Muscle Memory set to begin his musical journey all over again. The album is set to be divided into two, with one side focussing more on the post-hardcore/alternative rock sound that was Reuben’s trademark, whilst the other half is filled with folk and jazz tunes. A slightly peculiar combination, but one we are backing Lenman to pull off successfully. Earlier today he posted this on his Facebook page.
“Hello everyone, it’s your good friend Jamie Lenman here. It’s been a while!
I’m writing to tell you all that I’ve recorded an album and it’s going to be released with my old pals Xtra Mile on November the 4th. The record is called ‘Muscle Memory’; it’s a double album of 23 tracks and I’m very proud of it. The record is split in two with one half extreme, aggressive metal and the other half all folk and jazz – and I’m hoping it’ll split your minds in two also. You can pre-order it at [http://www.xtramilerecordings.com/MusicDetails.aspx?rid=687&fid=12&brid=5]”
Being the nice chap that he is, he has also released a video for two of the tracks from the album, Fizzy Blood and Pretty Please, which can be viewed at the bottom of this page. It shows Lenman sporting a fantastic moustache. If that doesn’t swing your interest then nothing will. The track listing for the record has also been released, which can be found below.
