Within the new album we see Blake’s continued collaboration with Justin Vernon, with Vernon co-writing both ‘I Need a Forest Fire’ and ‘Meet You in the Maze’, Vernon also provides vocals on ‘I Need a Forest Fire’. We also see a new collaboration from Blake with Frank Ocean, who helped co-write both ‘My Willing Heart’ and ‘Always’.
Blake’s reputation in world wide music is certainly growing and collaborations with the likes of Vernon and Ocean certainly can’t hurt! As well as hinted work with Kanye West on this album; who previously regarded Blake as his favourite artist:
“Just go listen to his music, and say, ‘Hey, that’s Kanye’s favorite artist,'” West said.
This combined with the fact that he had the legendary Rick Rubin help produce ‘The Colour In Anything’, there can seemingly be no stopping Blake and his continued rise in music; his art work is even produced by Sir Quentin Blake!
