Ivorian Doll is the latest rapper to appear on GRM Daily’s popular Youtube series Daily Duppy. The episode, which aired on the 11th of October, features the ‘Rumours,’ rapper deliver exclusive bars with production from Madara Beatz, KidSpyral & JayBenJay.
The video quickly became a diss track where Ivorian Doll (IVD) called out ‘first to be unemployed,’ Youtube blogger Miss Rfabulous, who quickly responded on the 12th with her own ‘IVD Diss Track,‘ which is currently streaming as number one on trending. Ivorian Doll shot to popularity as a rapper six months ago when she released her breakthrough track ‘Rumours.‘
According to PRS for Music, ‘2020 has seen a cultural shift with Black British music being embraced by the masses more than ever before.’ Ivorian Doll is a perfect example of this shift and also a unique figure in as a female artist in a genre which is largely male dominated. PRS for Music describes her as ‘the First Lady of UK Drill.’

Ivorian Doll describes herself as ‘an unknown artist reaching for global domination.’ She has demonstrated her skill as a live performer through her performance at the GRM Daily Rated Awards 2020 where she delivered and explosive version of her song ‘Bodybag,’ the follow up to ‘Rumours.’ With her breakthrough track no having reached 4.5 million views on Youtube, Ivorian Doll certainly has the option to make it very big. ‘Bodybag,’ has already reached 844k views in the two months since its release and fans eagerly await each new release.
As well as releasing her own tracks, Ivorian Doll has also been very active in collaborating with other artists on the scene. She featured on Br3nya’s latest track ‘Bezerk,’ which was uploaded to Youtube on the 8th of October and saw the two team up as a duo after sharing the stage together at the GRM Daily Rated Awards. According to Wonderland Magazine Ivorian Doll and Br3nya’s track is ‘putting female drill on the map,’ and they hope that ‘that this won’t the last time we hear these two on a track together.’
Another recent collaboration for Ivorian Doll has been with Tottenham rapper Headie One who released his album, ‘Edna,’ last Friday. She features on the track ‘F U Pay Me,’ where she is given her own verse and then joins in with the Headie One on the following chorus. This appearance appears to solidify Ivorian Doll’s status on the scene as the album reads like a who’s who in rap with other big names featured include Grime’s Stormzy and Skepta, Manchester rapper Aitch and more.
According to The Line of Best Fit ‘this year has been a record-breaking one for women in rap, with artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Saweetie and Rico Nasty topping charts,‘ and Ivorian Doll is no exception. She looks up to Niki Minaj in the way she behaves on stage and her image and there is no doubt that Doll can bring the bars.
