2017 saw the last studio album by Dorset born artist Iglooghost. His debut ‘Neo Wax Bloom’ propelled him onto the scene, delivering an array of hectic yet ethereal electronic tracks. After a string of extended plays following the first album, Iglooghost is back with his second installment titled ‘Lei Line Eon’. This lush and extensive piece of work showcases his style to the fullest, adding an orchestral touch to the UK bass style fans are familiar with. The project consists of ten tracks with a 42-minute runtime, boasting features from London-based singer LOLA and fellow electronic experimentalist and Gloo member BABii.
As well as the new LP, a fresh wave of merchandise has also arrived, all relating to the expanding ecosystem of his work. Products available on the store include T-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, artwork prints and a mesmerising coloured vinyl. The LP includes a transparent marbled vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve and is being stocked by various retailers including Rough Trade, Drift Records and Bleep.
Details including the strange build up towards this project can be found on the Glyph Institute website, a surreal documentary can be viewed, along with diary entries displaying various findings and research into a long-lost lifeform-summoning genre. “After spending the last year & a half dedicated to tracing the sprawling history of a phenomenon called Lei Music – I decided to formalise my fixation on the field by founding a research facility called the Glyph Institute². In the following months I will be publishing my experiments, analysis, and best attempts to elucidate the questions that have always eclipsed any formal understanding of Lei Music.” This website has been serving as the rollout tool for the London-based artists surrealist world, with various entries like the one above relating to Lei Music available to read.
