We are truly privileged to have their support along with 2FM, the team in MCD and the 3Arena. We will continue to help children all over Ireland who use the services of the ISPCC and Childline and We Will Never Give Up On A Child. Ever.”
Hozier also headlined the ball in, its first year, 2015 alongside Little Green Cars, The Riptide Movement, Gavin James, Ryan Sheridan and Hudson Taylor. Since the balls inception, in2015, it has seen many performers grace the event from Kodaline, and The Script to The Coronas and The Academic, and many more amazing artists.
Head of RTÉ 2FM and Radio Strategy, Dan Healy, said – “2FM is thrilled to partner with the ISPCC for the fourth year. The drive that Caroline Downey and her team have to do in order to make this night so special, which in turn raises a half million euro, needs to be seen to be believed . As ever the line-up is stunning. It really feels like we are in the golden age of Irish music and what a night we will all have. I can’t wait to hear Hozier raise the roof when he sings Nina Cried Power. Let’s raise another half a million for the ISPCC- ISPCC CRIED POWER.”
The announcement that Hozier will be headlining the event comes after a busy year for the Irish born singer/song-writer. He has recently concluded a tour of North America and recently kick started his European tour, in Paris, on the 14th of November 2018. The ‘Nina Cried Power’ singer also has forthcoming tour dates in the UK and Ireland. The response for Hozier’s recent shows and music has been widespread and since the release of his ‘Nina Cried Power’ EP, it has been streamed more than 45 million times.
Speaking about the collaboration between the two artists, Sergei Polunin said: “When I found out that Hozier wanted me to be in his new music video for the song Movement, I was over the moon with happiness. “He did it again”, I thought when I heard the song – he created a masterpiece. His music inspired and moved me before and, he did it again with this song Movement”.
