American group Health have released a brand-new single, “Still Breathing” is the band’s latest track to be taken from their upcoming album Disco4: Part ii, set to be released on 8th April 2022. The new track features a collaboration with Canadian artist ekkstacy. The two acts will also perform together at the new album’s release show, held at LA’s 1720 on 6th April 2022.
A press release has provided the following description for “Still Breathing”, “The taut and simmering track demonstrates the breadth of HEALTH’s sonic palette and follows “COLD BLOOD,” HEALTH’s thunderous first collaboration with metal titans Lamb of God.” The newly released track is the third single to be taken from Health’s upcoming album, the first track to be released, “Dead Flowers”, was also a collaboration and featured American artist Poppy.
The group are often categorised within the rock and industrial rock genres, and consists of members vocalist Jake Duzsik, bassist John Famiglietti and drummer BJ Miller. The band first gained recognition in 2007 when they released a remix of the popular track “Crimewave” by electro group Crystal Castles. Due to the release, the band’s audience began to grow, and their self-titled debut studio album was released on 18th September 2007 via Lovepump United.
The band’s forthcoming release marks their fifth studio album and will be released via Loma Vista, an independent record label formed by the former CEO of Warner Bros. Records. A press release supplies the following statement concerning the upcoming album, “Three years after VOL.4:: SLAVES OF FEAR, the L.A. trio’s ferocious entry into the world of heavy music, HEALTH return with the second half of their DISCO4 series. A whole lot went to hell in the world in the meantime, forcing the band to re-invent how they wrote music together. For DISCO4:: PART II they cut it fast and mean, recruiting both legends and nascent contenders of heavy music and its many peripheral genres. HEALTH are not only making the heaviest, most genre-obliterating music of their career. They’re documenting just how insane it feels to be alive right now.”
In support of Disco4: part ii, Health are set to hit the road for a headlining tour that sees them perform across the US, Europe and the UK. The twenty-three-date tour kicks off with the album release show in Los Angeles. Along with ekkstacy, the set will also feature American electro artist BASECK.
Health begins their series of UK performances on 18th April 2022 with a set at Stereo in Glasgow, followed by two further performances in Manchester and Birmingham. The UK tour will conclude with a show in London on 21st April 2022. The rest of the tour consists of eighteen European shows, kicking off on 22nd April 2022 with a performance in the Netherlands. The concluding show is scheduled to take place on 24th June 2022 at the French festival Hellfest. Three further groups are set to join Health on the upcoming tour, Peturbator, Youth Code, and Maenad Veyl will support Health on selected European dates.
