Headie One announces a new mixtape Too Loyal For My Own Good set to drop on the 1st of October.
The Tottenham rapper announced his new project while performing on the main stage at this year’s Wireless Festival in Crystal Palace park, before confirming his announcement with the official cover art which he posted on his Instagram the evening of his performance.
Headie has not yet released the tracklist for what will be his 7th mixtape and 8th project since his debut project Drillers and Trappers alongside frequent collaborator RV in 2017.
The 26-year-old rappers last project was his debut album and came in the shape of a 20 track project titled Edna after the rapper late mother. The project was not only Headies first album but it was also his first number one with his project staying in the charts for 14 weeks following its debut week at number one.
Edna also landed Headie with 2 top twenty singles, with “Ain’t it different” featuring Stormzy and AJ Tracey which peaked at number 2 and stayed in the charts 21 weeks, and “Princess Cuts” featuring Nottingham duo Young T and Bugsey which peaked at number 11 and stayed in the charts for 13 weeks.
Headie one’s announcement was made at this year’s Wireless festival which was held at Crystal Palace park this year instead of its regular venue, Finsbury Park. Headie performed on the main stage in front of thousands of fans excited to be back at festivals after nearly two years.
Headie has released two singles in recent months, “Pound Signs” and “2 Chainz” and if they are anything to go by for his upcoming project then fans should anticipate Headie one doing what he does best, effortlessly rapping over drill beats that will be infused with different genres such as Jazz and electronic music.
