Headie One announces the new single “2 Chains” set to drop this Thursday.
The Tottenham rapper has been quiet since his chart-topping album release in October 2020, having only dropped one new single “Pound signs”, appealing on Grm Daily’s daily duppy and making some guest appearances alongside Ghanaian artists Smallgod, O’Kenneth, Kwaku DMC and Lp2loose on the track sinners and most recently he featured alongside King Promise on his track “Ring my line”.
Headie shared the trailer for his upcoming single with his 818 thousand followers yesterday.
The trailer followed after Headie teased fans with a snippet of the track the day before as well as suggesting an upcoming tape with the tracks he was teasing being number with this upcoming release “2 chains” being the 4th track. The only other tracks shown when Headie was teasing his new music was the 2nd track “Love me for me” and track 3 “Beggars can’t be choosers”
Headie has taken a step back from the UK scene since his album success but has been keeping his fans entertained with his features on tracks alongside Ghanaian artists.
Headies work in 2020 has not gone unnoticed with the 26-year-old having been nominated for 4 awards at this years Grm Rated awards. Headie was nominated for Album of the year for his chat topping project Edna, Track of the year for his single “Aint it different” featuring Stormzy and AJ Tracey, Video of the year for “Princess cuts” video featuring Nottingham’s Young T and Bugsey and Male artist of the year.
Headies new single will be released this Thursday, with the Flexgoddaps directed video featuring Headie in what looks to be a derelict building with flame throwers in hand.
