Guns N’ Roses have finally been able to confirm their rescheduled UK and European tour dates today, after calling it off back in May due to the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic. All the shows will now take place in 2021, and the band took to social media to let fans know that they are “looking forward to getting back on stage.”
Tickets will remain valid, although refunds can be obtained from the point of purchase if required. For those who still haven’t purchased tickets, there are still some available through Ticketmaster. There are eight dates in total, a change from the fifteen which were originally planned.
The band addressed this in their post, saying that, “unfortunately, due to routing and venue availability issues that developed during the postponement process a select few shows were not able to be rescheduled and have been cancelled.” These include dates in Germany, Austria, and Italy. Still going ahead, however, are two performances in London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and one in Ireland and at Glasgow Green.
There have been rumours of the band releasing a new album since the completion of their last tour in 2016. Speaking to NME recently, the band’s guitarist, Slash, confirmed that there is new Guns N’ Roses music to come, and that he’s been putting his focus on writing.
He said, “I’ve been back and forth between my studio in the house and doing a lot of writing and recording on my own,” but also that he’s been “jamming” with fellow band members Duff McKagan (bass) and Axl Rose (lead vocals), creating demos for the next album. Furthermore, guitarist Richard Fortus mentioned to Forbes in early 2020 “I hope that we have new music out this coming year.”
