Glastonbury festival 2021 has been cancelled because of the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, as informed by organisers Michael and Emily Eavis on their Twitter.
The festival has been cancelled for the second time since the summer of 2020. Show organisers Michael and Emily Eavis took to twitter to announce the cancellation of the event and said, “With great regret, we must announce that this year’s Glastonbury Festival will not take place, and that this will be another enforced fallow year for us,” The organisers further added that the tickets purchased for the Glastonbury festival in October 2019, rolled over from 2020, will go on to stay valid for the 2022 festival.

The statement further read, “In spite of our efforts to move heaven and earth, it has become clear that we simply will not be able to make the Festival happen this year. We are so sorry to let you all down.”
The announcement was a let down for fans, and came after Michael Eavis said that he hoped Glastonbury could happen in the Summer of 2021, on the condition that the “majority” of the UK’s population be vaccinated by the end of June, 2021.
More information on the cancellation and tickets can be found on their website.
