The second batch of line-up announcements for this year’s Glastonbury festival came through today and it looks as if there will be something for everyone on the bill. Kasabian join Arcade Fire as one of the headline acts for this event whilst the other headliners will remain under wraps for contractual reasons.
Glastonbury head Emily Eavis spoke on BBC 6Music of how there are still several names to be announced for the festival but that this first release will undoubtedly excite many music followers. Along with Kasabian, the long list of names released today included fresh acts such as Skrillex, Sam Smith and The 1975 along with a number of acts from music history such as Pixies, Dexys, Dolly Parton and Robert Plant.
Amongst the other names announced, stand out acts include Jack White, Elbow, Ed Sheeran, Manic Street Preachers and so many more. These acts will join the likes of the already confirmed Disclosure, Blondie and The Black Keys at the Somerset Festival; marked by many as the gemstone of the music festival calendar.
Despite the wealth of acts announced, much of the buzz surrounding this announcement has been based on the yet to be announced headliner with the excuse of ‘contractual obligations’ making fans anxious. The final headliner, along with the full line-up, is expected to be released next month.
