Glass Animals have taken to social media to announce a new album and release new single ‘Dreamland’, which is also the title track.
the idea for this album came at a time of huge confusion and uncertainty in our lives…right now seems like the most insane, but also the most apt time to share it with you. here is the title track, and a video Dave made it in his house during quarantine.https://t.co/HQztOAY1lspic.twitter.com/vK2cFynDMa

The announcement follows the release of two singles earlier this year ‘Tokyo Drifting’ which featured American rapper Denzel Curry and ‘Deja Vu’. Both of these arrived with a positive reaction from fans of the English psychedelic pop group. Watch video for ‘Deja Vu’ below;
This will be the group’s third album and it is one that is hotly anticipated by fans and critics alike. ‘Dreamland’ will be arriving four years after 2016’s ‘How to be a Human Being’ which was a continuation of their unique psychedelic tinged pop which they started working on on debut album ‘Zaba’.
Lead singer and primary songwriter Dave Bayley says, in the post, that “This album is about growing up. Those first memories as a little kid.” Take that as you will but it seems like this album could be one that hits home with a lot of fans.
Understandably, this announcement has caused fans to erupt with excitement with one commenting “DAVE THIS IS SO AMAZING”. Caps lock firmly on to demonstrate their happiness with the announcement.
Although the band have released multiple singles this year the album was not on the cards and has come somewhat out of the blue. But it was seen by the ones who had seen the cryptic changes the band had made to their website which said they had a big announcement to make this week.
So, in a week where Boris Johnson announced that we are past the peak of Coronavirus in the UK, this tops off what can only be seen as positive progress for us. The cherry on top being that the sun is starting to come back out, but I’m not holding out hope knowing British weather.
