George Ezra is the latest celebrity to play his part in helping with the coronavirus pandemic. Ezra took to Instagram to announce that he has donated his music to Joe Wicks’ PE lessons.
The 26-year-old has selflessly decided to share his music with Joe Wicks, a fitness coach also known as the Body Coach, who revealed that he felt his daily PE lessons are missing some music. Joe hosts daily PE lessons for children, and adults, who are stuck at home during the lockdown. He hosts his live classes Monday to Friday, at 9 am, on his YouTube channel.
Due to copyright issues, Joe has been unable to add music to his videos, but now George has come to the rescue.Ezra took to Instagram to announce the news and the motivation behind it. The Budapest singer revealed that his decision to share his music was all down to his mum.
Ezra revealed that his beloved mum is a school teacher in a primary school, and each day, her students take part in virtual PE lessons with Joe. It was thanks to her, that the singer decided to offer up his music to bored kids across the UK who are stuck at home.
Alongside a short video clip where he thanked fans for their continued support, George penned a lengthy post explaining why he felt the need to do his part, in the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, by doing anything he can to help in the crisis.
Taking to Instagram, Ezra wrote: “So, yesterday my mum rang me on her lunch break. She’s a teacher at a primary school and each morning her and the kids are tuning in for PE with Joe.
“Joe mentioned that it was a shame that there was no music on during the classes but because of copyright issues he couldn’t use songs in the background. My mum suggested I offer Joe and the kids my songs to use, so I got in touch with Joe and we made it happen.”
Thanks to the ‘Shotgun’ singers kind gesture, the NHS will benefit immensely. The singer revealed that “all royalties from the songs being used are going directly to the NHS!”
George concluded his post by praising his beloved mum, along with all the teachers across the UK. He said, “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Joe for being the worlds fitness coach throughout all of this and an even bigger thank you to my amazing mum and all the other incredible teachers up and down the country for everything they’re doing.”
He shared the post with his followers alongside a video message, George said: “Hello Joe, it’s George, I hope you’re well, this is just a quick message to say huge thank you to you for having my music play a small part in PE with Joe, it’s just amazing, it goes wihout saying that everything you’re doing at the moment is amazing, thank you very much and see you soon.”
