Genre-blending British/Turkish singer, songwriter and producer, Gazel has released her spellbinding brand new single, ‘Rain Is Coming’. This new track is the latest to be taken from Gazel’s forthcoming debut album, ‘Gazel’s Book Of Souls’, which is scheduled to be released, on the 4th of October 2019.

Gazel’s latest track, ‘Rain Is Coming’, has been described as “swelling and emotive, ‘Rain Is Coming’ opens to a flowing synth underpinning traditional instrumentation, which gradually builds through diaphanous melodies into an electrifying crescendo of layered vocals and driving polyrhythms.”

Speaking about the track, Gazel said: “‘Rain Is Coming’ is about the double-bind of being required to grow spontaneously from childhood into acceptable adulthood. If I had advice for a child it would be to run and hide before you’re ripped from the earth inelegantly and taught to long-divide.”

‘Rain Is Coming’ is the fourth track to be taken from Gazel’s hotly anticipated debut album, ‘Gazel’s Book Of Souls’. It follow the likes of captivating hits such as ‘Mina’s Hymn’, ‘Pointing At The Moon’, and ‘You’re Not Funny’.

The upcoming album, ‘Gazel’s Book Of Souls’, tells the tale of a young girl, Gazel, who sets out on a journey to find the cause of a mysterious fire which destroyed her village. During the process she encounters a number of  intriguing ‘souls’ – who reside in our collective unconscious – each of which are represented by a different track on the album.

Speaking about the story behind the album, Gazel said: “The fire started in her grandfather’s study and he was blamed, but my character doesn’t believe it was him, so she starts investigating for herself.”

She continued, “Her grandfather kept his diaries in a coded language, which you can see in my artwork and live visuals. She begins to understand what the language means, and starts on her journey through the desert meeting the characters that dwell in her town’s collective psyche.”
