Since his debut studio album Channel Orange in 2012, fans of Frank Ocean have had a long wait for this second album to be entitled Boys Don’t Cry.
It is said that Boys Don’t Cry will be released this month (July) a year later than the original announcement of its release back in 2015. The ‘date due’ has been displayed on his website:
Ocean’s initial career was as a ghost writer for artists such as Justin Bieber Brandy, and John Legend. His solo career took off with his mixtape release of Nostalgia, Ultra in 2011 where the singles ‘Novacane’ and ‘Swim Good’ gave him prominent attention. Likewise, his controversial single ‘American Wedding’ drew further attention as it was said to be far too similar the famous ‘Hotel California’ by The Eagles.
In 2010 he changed his name to Frank Ocean: it was said that he was inspired by the 1960 film Ocean’s 11.
A year of anticipation will certainly build immense hype for this long awaited second album. Watch ‘Swim Good’ below.
