Former One Direction star Zayn Malik has announced the postponing of his Edinburgh dates, originally set for November 20 and 21. After his incredible rise to fame with One Direction and his decision to leave the band, Malik created a successful solo career, with many hits to his name. His solo debut song, “Pillowtalk”, peaked at number one on UK charts and received positive reviews by critics and fans alike. The song was followed by the album “Mind of Mine”, released in 2016, which also peaked at number one in the UK as well as many other countries in the world, such as the United States and Australia. “Mind of Mine” was followed by the albums “Icarus Fall”, released in 2018, “Nobody is Listening” in 2021 and finally “Room Under the Stairs” in 2024.
Despite the success of his first release, Malik struggled to keep up the success he had achieved during his One Direction times. “Icarus Fall”, in fact, peaked at number 77 on UK charts and none of its songs managed to make it in the Top Ten Charting Songs in the UK. “Room Under the Stairs”, however, achieved more success than the previous two albums peaking at number three.
Malik also achieved popularity with some singles. He sang with Taylor Swift on the “Fifty Shades of Gray” soundtrack on the song “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever”, which peaked at number 5 in the UK, and with SIA on “Dusk Till Dawn” which, again, peaked at number five.
From his One Direction days, Malik has made many loyal fans who were looking forward to seeing him in Edinburgh. The scheduled dates were, in fact, part of Malik’s first ever tour as a solo artist. The singer had announced the tour earlier this September, stating that he appreciated the love and support from his fans, and was looking forward to seeing them soon. The tour originally included five dates in the USA and six dates in the UK.
After the announcement some new dates were added to satisfy the incredible demand, and Malik sold out once again the entire tour.

However, due to his former bandmate Liam Payne’s sudden passing earlier this October, Malik made the decision to postpone the US leg of his tour to January 2025. He announced it through twitter and thanked fans for their support, stating that all tickets would still be available for the rescheduled dates.
Despite the need to reschedule, Malik has been appreciative of fans’ understanding and is making sure that, despite everything, fans will be able to enjoy his first tour and finally see him live after many years.
